Another sought after, and to my mind quite pretty Hornby engine was the Southern Railway L1. It also had the advantage of using the same tender as the Eton. It would need completely new tooling for the engine sheetmetal, but I had some ideas I wanted to try out regarding soft tooling for footplate forming dies and decided to give it a whirl.
The result was very pleasing. Note the beautiful brass dome, from a lovely piece of deep drawing press die work by Alan.
